Amina Bradley
I am an Elma, NY-based artist and I create paintings that celebrate Nature. I take inspiration from my daily life, which is filled with gardening, creative activities, and living with intention. A wife, mother, plant/vegetable grower, and owner of 3 cats, most of my paintings feature people, pets, and flowers that I know, and love. My interest in nature-inspired painting stems from early childhood, where I received significant exposure to the works of Russian landscape painting great, Ivan Shishkin. One could say it was meant to be, as Mr. Shishkin was a native of my hometown, leading me to receive extensive exposure to the vast collections of his work early on.
While I did not pursue formal art training in my youth, upon falling in love with painting I established a self-directed study plan to parlay the strong observational and sketching skills towards mastering representational oil painting.
My proficiency was developed via rigorous practice copying Dutch master painters, private art study, and attending local and out of state art workshops, online seminars, and in person classes in various art colleges across the state.
My work is represented at Off Main Gallery in East Aurora, NY.
